It has always been seen that our computer crashes and we don't know the exact cause of it. But there is always a reason why such crashes took place. Today, i will let you know about the most 5 reasons that are the root cause of computer system crashes. Consider the following reasons carefully so that you can protect your system from being crashed in the future.
1. Bios Settings :
Every motherboard has some chipset settings that is made by the manufacture in the factory. In order to access these settings, kindly press F2 or Delete key during the boot up of the computer system. Inside the BIOS Settings page, there will be all the settings of the computer, it is better to note down those on paper. It is so because if some changes are made on the Bios and then the computer becomes more unstable, then you can make the settings default. A common BIOS error concerns the CAS latency. This refers to the Ram. Older EDO (extended data out) Ram has a CAS latency of 3. Newer SDRam has a CAS latency of 2. Setting the wrong figure can cause the Ram to lock up and freeze the computer’s display.
2. Hardware Conflict :
It is the most common reason that why the computer crashes. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device. If there are a lot of devices, or if they are not installed properly, two of them may end up sharing the same IRQ number. When the user tries to use both devices at the same time, a crash can happen. So it is advisable to properly install the devices and check their IRQ number.
3. Low RAM or Bad RAM :
Ram (Random-Access Memory) problems can bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and need replacing. This problem leads to the slow speed of the system and crash the system if it is overworked.
4. Hard Disk Drive :
The information on Hard Disk always become fragmented after certain period of time. So it is always advisable to defragment the disk every week or so. If it is not done, then the screen start to freeze and produce unwanted results/outcomes. Optimization of disk is also the best way to reduce load on disk, there are unwanted files on the disk which increases the space plus the load on disk. So, always try to delete unwanted files and specially the temporary internet files.
5. Viruses
These days they are the responsible for half of the computer crashes. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up. The virus also slows down the speed of the computer and interrupts the function of softwares. It is always better to have a good, genuine antivirus to protect the system from viruses.
So these five reasons are the topmost reasons for making the computer to crash. Since there are hundreds of reasons but these five are the obvious reasons.
