Everything about Firefox OS

A new version of firefox has launched namely Firefox v1.1 that is now available for all the Geeksphone Keon users and Peak smartphone users. But for Geeksphone Keon users, they will need to update the OS manually as per as the confirmed news posted in one of the firefox official blog. This upgrade in Geeksphone will faster boot times and improve displays. Also, this will fix some known bugs. Bugs fixes are available in Peak smartphones too ..

Firefox OS' UI an app drawer like Android, but the major difference lies in the fact that unlike Android, this OS runs on HTML5 and latest CSS codes. It has a nice and smooth homecreen. That aside, the OS seems to have a "cartoon-y visual style”, with big round and colourful icons.

Users can capture photos on the go and enhance them with built-in style filters on smartphones running the OS. Other features of the OS include the ability to import one’s contacts from one’s favourite social networks. FM Radio on the OS gives users access to all the audio they want on the go, on one device.

Those using devices running the Firefox OS can head over to the Firefox Marketplace for apps. The Marketplace features HTML5-based apps under several categories including Shopping, Photo & Video, Social, Books, Education, to name a few. Popular apps on the Firefox Marketplace include Twitter, Wikipedia, SoundCloud, Jauntly, etc
